Week 73 ~ pumpkin carving, baptismal dates, and savagery

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.

On Halloween we knocked some doors in the evening and I kind of felt like we were trick or treating but instead of them giving us candy, we were trying to give them eternal salvation. We saw a few little girls who were out trying to trick or treat. Halloween isn´t really a thing here but some people wish it was... so these girls were trying to get candy. Zuster Elggren said, "Happy Halloween" to them and they got so excited. I asked them if they had got any candy and they said a little bit and then one of the girls excitedly told us that one lady slammed the door in their face. Dutch people are savages hahaha. But those girls thought it was super cool hahah.

We found FOUR new investigators this week! They are all super awesome and I´m excited to teach them! The biggest miracle was Cindy!! She is a former who was on baptismal date when I first got here. We tried to get in contact with her, but she cancelled all of our appointments. We gave her a break and finally contacted her again and found out that she was just kind of weirded out that both of the sisters she knew got transferred and there were going to be two new ones. But we made an appointment and we went over and realized that she is GOLDEN!!! She has had the first couple of lessons, has read a bunch in the Book of Mormon, KNOWS THAT THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE, and WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED. She told us that she was searching and praying and then the next day the sisters showed up! So she knew that their message and the Book of Mormon is true! We read all of Mosiah 18 with her and then committed her to be baptized. We had a date (November 25) in mind, but when we went over there she told us she wants to be baptized, but she doesn´t want to rush it too much. She wants to make sure she´s ready and will stay active in the church. After we read the chapter with her we asked her if she wanted to make a goal for a date to be baptized. She said yes and asked when we have baptismal services. Zuster Elggren told her we have one on November 25th and she got super excited and said she would prepare herself to be baptized on that day!!! I am so grateful that we are able to help Cindy make this promise with God and that we can be tools in the hands of God in helping others come unto Him. I´m so excited for Cindy and hope we can help her to be ready to be baptized on my last Saturday in the land :)

One of our other new investigators is called Valesca and I´m really excited to teach her too. She´s in the army and is not religious, but is super nice and excited to hear about our message. We did a survey with her where we ask 10 questions about a person´s thoughts about life and faith and then it leads perfectly in to testifying about what we believe and giving a tabbed Book of Mormon where the person can find more answers to their questions. She is really positive and it´ll be cool to teach her.

Another miracle was when we found Jasmine´s family history line all the way back to Adam hahah we were all freaking out. I´ll try to attach the video we took :´)

Here´s a quote from one of my faves:
"Brigham Young is a savage. He´s my grandpa. No wonder I´m savage. It runs in the family." -direct quote from one of Brigham Young´s (savage) direct descendants (zuster elggren) hahah

Have a good week!!
